Bottles kept out of landfills since 2021

How we count this

This number is live. It ticks up within seconds of every order, and counts every order placed since we started in 2021 — across the US, UK and Australia.

We count one bottle saved from the landfill for every product you buy that's built to replace single-use packaging: our refill pouches, the reusable bottles you refill, and the glass candle vessels you re-pour instead of throwing away. Accessories and one-off extras aren't counted — only the things that actually displace a single-use container.

For the plastic we can't avoid yet, we go further than offsetting it on paper: through our partner rePurpose Global, we fund the physical removal of twice that weight from the environment.

Our two-step approach to eliminating single-use packaging waste

Reuse keeps plastic out of landfills and oceans.

We offset

We remove from the environment the plastic we use.

Recycling alone can't save us.

Over 380 million tons of plastic are made every year — and less than 10% of plastic has ever been recycled. The rest is landfilled, dumped, or burned.

Most of the industry treats recycling as good enough. We don't. The real win is never making the waste at all – and that's what we set out to build.

A clear stream running through a lush green forest

Refill-first, across the board.

We invented the candle refill — a simple idea that lets you keep your jar and replace just the wax. And we're not stopping there: our goal is to bring the refill model to every product category in your home.

Skip the bottle.

Our refill pouches use 85% less plastic than traditional bottles.

You get luxurious formulations without paying for packaging you're just going to throw away. (Why use plastic at all?)

Transparency > Perfection.

We hate plastic as much as you do. But right now, a plastic-free pouch that keeps liquid soap shelf-stable doesn't exist, and alternatives like glass are too resource-intensive to be sustainable. So we did the next best thing: we offset it.

We're working toward better alternatives, but we won't let “perfect” get in the way of “good” right now.

What we fund

How we offset our plastic usage

Through rePurpose Global, we fund a collection team in Hyderabad, India. They are paid a fair wage to gather packaging with no resale value (like candy wrappers and chip bags) that is worthless to recyclers and often ends up in the ocean.
